Cream tea with Bake Off's Karen Wright

Some of our Something Social members spent a delightful and sunny afternoon immersed in a captivating talk delivered by the renowned Karen Wright, who is widely recognised for her appearances on The Great British Bake Off (series 9). Following Karen's engaging and humorous talk, which was filled with anecdotes from her experiences in the world of baking and television, attendees were treated to a splendid Cream Tea hosted by the Farnley Tyas WI. The Cream Tea was fabulous, featuring an array of delicious homemade scones, freshly baked to perfection. Each scone was accompanied by rich, sweet jam and luxurious clotted cream, creating a delectable combination that satisfied the taste buds of everyone present. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversation as members enjoyed their treats, sharing stories and forging connections over the shared love of good food and engaging company. All proceeds from this delightful event were dedicated to the Forget Me Not charity, an organisation committed to supporting children with life-threatening conditions and their families.
